Hollis Taggart Downtown | May 15 - June 20, 2026 In Material Memory, Hans Neleman presents a new body of assemblage collages that reconstruct fragments of classical portraiture into layered, sculptural compositions—transforming torn historical imagery, distressed paper, and mixed media into intimate reliquaries of the past. Through this process of fragmentation and reconstruction, his work explores memory as something continually remade rather than preserved, revealing history as fluid, tactile, and perpetually reassembled within the present.
